Ag Data Viewer 4.0 Change Log

Version Changes
4.9.11

BEFORE INSTALLING THIS VERSION, UNINSTALL ALL PREVIOUS VERSIONS OF AG DATA VIEWER

  • Addressed an issue with Adust Geo Ref for Drawings. Allows for sliding drawings with the same ease as sliding images.

4.9.8

  • Fixed issue with log file and Veris Log File points not being visible during logging.
  • Re-worked light bar controls in Veris Logging to work with new settings engine.
  • Changed an encoding setting in the Apllication Serial Port that was causing trouble with Raven Controllers not dfecoding boom status bit properly.
  • Restored the abitlity to click on created surfaces to view what has been created after running zone builder.
4.9.6
  • Fixed issue with Map Math Button and Create Grid from Points buttons not appearing after entering Settings.
  • Applied Changes that should fix the light bars in Variable Rate , Log and Sample, and Veris Logging.
  • Fixed an Issue with Quick Marks, where the index when adding a point was one to low, causing it to fail.
  • Fixed and Issue with the Quick marks distance filter. That was preventing it from working.
  • Fixed an issue with changing fields and the Quick marks continuing to reference the previous field.

Made changes to the Boundary Buffer Button. When clicked, it now brings up a list of distances to buffer.
Start Low, you can always do it again at a greater distance if you need more.
  • Added a Save Button to the Layer Toolbar. The functionality of the old Save Button is right next to it, in the "Save As" button.
  • Added an error handler for SHP files with invalid objects in them, so that the reader will continue after encountering a bad object.
  • Added, Seeds/Acre, and Dollars/Acre to two of the boxes where units are set, I'm sure I forgot to add them someplace.
I'm equally sure that someone will let me know about it. :-)
  • Fixed an error, where if a Map Math window was opened, then closed quickly, a file already open error would occur, on the recently used scripts list.

Fixed an Error that occurred when deleting a folder that contained multiple images that were loaded in the tree. Fixes the "Colllection Was Modified" Error.
  • Changed some handling procedures in the "Extract from Image to Zones". Had reports that many unsaved images were being left behind. Hopefully I have it fixed.
  • Also on the Extract from Image to Zones, a 255 zone entry was added, if 255 is selected, and Two Standard Deviation Stretch of the default color table will be applied.

rather than the standard K-Means used in the zone process.
4.9.4

  • Modified the CSV Reader to function like the DBF Reader, if the header line contains an item that contains the word "LAT"
and another item with the word "LON"
it will use those columns to load the file.
  • Fixed an error where the selected items in the database display would disappear if any of the columns were clicked on and sorted.
  • Watershed modeling can be done in any open map window. Load a topo map, click "Process-Watershed Modeling" and a familiar dialog will
appear so you can run watershed modeling without loading a new window.
4.9.0

  • Added a projection dialog to the Exporter for AGPS Products. Allows user to select UTM projections in Meters, International feet, US Survey Feet.
  • Greenstar 2 imports for topography, are functioning better than ever in 4.2.
  • GS2 import merges files for each field into one output, yet retains a file reference in the database to allow the user to select the points from each logfile.
  • Removed an annoying tree refresh that was closing up the imagery and county data tree's any time a layer was added.
  • Changed the method of selecting the source data folder for image extraction.
4.8.2
  • Fixed an issue with LAS importer, created with changes in 4.8.1
  • Fixed a long standing issue with point shap files and sizing when they are created and loaded.
4.8.1
  • Fixed an issue with AGPS NEZ Data not having point attributes that start with a Number.
  • Re-worked layer collections to try to better sync the layer list with the maps and the tree. Was having issues with layers being renamed and moved and then the layer list crashing when unloading.
  • Fixed issue with satellite images not wanting to extract with the autozone function.
  • Added code to catch a field switch and redirect quick mark points to a new file.
  • Added a error handler to continue loading Veris log files with a corrupted line.
4.8.0
  • Re-worked the Menu Bar in MAP Math for quicker script loading.
  • Veris Logging utility will now process boundaries collected while logging.
  • Finished the Extract from image dialog to allow for much faster extraction of fields from scenes of imagery.
  • Added the ability to name the folders that are created when a Zone Merge function is run.
4.7.0
  • Fixed an issue where if a SID was re-displayed after being hidden, that it would not fetch a new bitmap from the SID. There was a unique sequence where several users were seeing the wrong bitmap displayed when it was turned back on. Since it wasn't visible at the time the scaling changes were made, the SID/JP2 reader wasn't notified that changes to screen scaling had occurred. So it ran with the last bitmap it had instead of grabbing a new one from the SID. This bug was introduced at about Version 4.1, and the technique has speeded up the software operation greatly, when SIDs are being displayed.

  • Fixed an issue where Soil Teq TIF files stored in the Tree would throw several stream exceptions as the tree was expanded.

  • Fixed a long standing issue where the edge-effect buffering routine was not adjustable.

  • Made several changes to the JD GRX Exporter, expanding capability an improving reliability.

  • Added Support for importing topography log files from Trimble SCS900 Survey controllers.

  • Re-worked several of the forms that were not picking up that last used Grower-Farm-Field correctly.

  • Re-worked the menu in map math to provide support for opening commonly used scripts with two clicks and no browsing.

  • In Map Math, Added the ability to use #Region....#End Region  to group code into logical blocks for easier reading.

4.6.1
  • THIS VERSION INSTALLS TO A DIFFERENT  FOLDER TO ALLOW THE USER TO KEEP VERSION 4.5 OR BELOW INSTALLED. THIS IS BECAUSE THE DEERE IMPORTS DO NOT FUNCTION IN THIS VERSION. THIS IS BEING RELEASED LIKE THIS BECAUSE OF THE IMPORTANCE OF HAVING THE DEERE GRX PRESCRIPTION OUTPUTS FOR FALL. IT WILL START WITH AN ICON ON THE DESKTOP LABELED ADV_JD32.

  • Fixed bug with logging FODD exports to Processing log

  • Added GreenStar 2 GRX Export.

  • Fixed Several bugs related to unloading multiple surfaces with unsaved changes.

  • A bug was removing the wrong image resulting in a repeating "Parameter is not valid" error that would lock in a loop and require the user to exit using Task Manager.

  • Improve the point offset algorithm for correcting for planter offset in collected topography point sets.
4.5.2
  • Re-worked the AGPS NEZ import to name the tile sizes properly. There were some characters showing up in areas where there were just supposed to be numbers. Name 0 and 1 defined sizes to be 10 and 12 inch respectively.

  • Added a method to the Save for a Multi-band TIF file. This method will save a 24 bit bitmap from a loaded image to a TIF-World combination. By doing this it will allow for using the new Extract from TIF function that will allow a user to extract a bitmap from a TIF for a selected boundary without loading the image. Currently this function will fail on the & band TIF from UMAC, but saving them as a 3 band TIF will allow it's use.
4.5.1
  • Had to rebuild after fixing several bugs. SHP Grid Export and Variable Rate Application was crashing due to modifications to the drawings collection made in 4.5.

4.5
  • Added the capability to Merge Soil test results with Grid Points for VR users. Points are merged, surfaces are created and cut to a boundary with very little user action.

  • Added a Log File that tracks tasks by Grower-Farm-Field. Many common tasks that a service provider would normally bill for, are logged with a time, date, Task ID, as well as grower, farm, field, and acres.

  • For the Zone Merge and Grid merge utilities there is now a method the provides for layer name, units and decimal precision for layers created within those utilities.

Existing Map Math Scripts need to be modified to work in Version 4.5, since a script now carries the ability to name the output file, set the units, and the decimal precision automatically as well. If you are scripting, drop us an email with a request for help on updating scripts.

Log and Sample functions are now complete. Grids can now be generated and saved.

Loaded Point layers can be selected into a Navigation screen that shows distance and bearing to the closest point.

  • The log and sample GPS controls now run in all windows that support GPS. This provides grid functions, quick marks, and easier to use marking functions in all GPS enabled forms.

  • The Veris Logging Utility has been upgraded to function with the new EC Surveyor. Also a new log file format has been implemented, while the extension is still GKT_VLF.
The file format is now a Comma Separated Values file with a header line. Also added a Color by standard deviation and fixed range color buttons.

4.4
  • LIDAR data (High Resolution Elevation Model DEM) data downloaded from the DNR Data Deli that has been extracted and displayed in the data tree will show up as an ASC file that can be loaded and extracted to create Watershed models for both ditch and tile planning.

  • LIDAR data downloaded from the US Geological Survey Lidar Site as LAS data now has an Import routine under Import Topo on the Menu. Both of these routines require some skills not known by all users. We are writing documentation to support these procedures, if you need these routines drop us a note and we will help you out.

  • The Utilities, Re-Project  Raster to this UTM Zone has been redone to provide better results.

  • For some point data, especially John Deere data, the points that have been collected have had the position offset to make the data for where things were planted offset by the length of the hitch on the planter, without changing the elevation values. Now under on the right click on an individual file you can change the X,Y location of the points that have been collected. You need to supply the field that contains the heading, or direction of travel, so that the points can be offset correctly. By doing this, a zig-zag appearance across ditches is fixed.

  • On the Profile Menu in the drainage window a profile button has been added, this button is that same as the on in the top menu bar.
  • There is a new button with a popup of "Review a Profile". If you click this button and then click on a saved profile line, it will recalculate a profile for that line.

  • An Unlock button has been added to the bottom of every data tree that will allow the user to unlock the tree in the event that a layer add has failed for some reason, and left the tree "locked" or grayed out.
  •  An ability to merge multiple bands of free Landsat data that have been downloaded from the USGS site to be merged, and extracted to a polygon that defines the extents of what are you desire from within a particular scene.

  • Imports from AGPS products have been greatly improved. Importing from Pipe-Pro will separate logged data into layers of different sizes of pipe that was installed.
  • A New exporter for Mid Tech ARM files has been created. While choosing the export, limit the polygon count to less than 3000 by changing the output resolution.
  • Changes to the Print routines and Batch-Print surfaces have improved printing to PDF's.
  • Added an import for imports from the installed files from the Intellislope controller.
  • The Log and Sample window, while it is improved is still not complete. It supplies capabilities not available elsewhere in the software, so even though it is not complete some users still have a need for it. USE WITH CAUTION.
4.1
  • Removed all use of the registry, seems like we must have an update that has come out that has restricted the registry. Lots of bugs there all of the sudden.

  • Finished the Landsat band combination tool.

  • Created a method to extract portions of a SID or JPEG2000 to save as a TIF for use possibly for creating NDVI from the new JPG2000 NAIP files.

  • Added our own Mid-Tech Arm prescription writer.

  • Fixed several printing issues when using the Map window designed for used on small screens.

  • Many changes and fixes to the new drawing tools. Lots learned in training sessions.

  • Found a way to make the cursor for the profile window work in Vista.

  • Unlock codes for GEN and Drainage window changed to work like the rest of the unlocks. Existing licenses upgraded automatically.

4.0
  • Added new Scout and Log Form with updated features for marking, Grid Sampling, zone sampling and Data Logging.

  • In the Auto Zone Form, changed the area that get extracted to just include 60 meters out side the boundary. Also added a list of loaded images to use for extraction in an attempt to reduce the number for mouse click even further.

  • Added a form for logging data from a connected Veris box, allows for viewing Veris Data as it is collected. Creates both Veris Deep and Surface maps and layer stats as they are collected.

  • For Grids and data rasters, there is a 'decimate' function under the "Utilities" that reduces the zone count strictly to the number of visible zones.

  • Added a Grid Function that allows for creating a rotatable grid to the map window, allows for more accurate drawing of tile lines.

  • Re-worked the Client-Farm-Field selector fixing several bugs and changing functionality slightly per a user's request.

  • Found and implemented a fix for the lack of scrolling of the data tree while dragging and dropping items.

  • Added the auto-zone control to the 800x600 or smaller map window, also fixed a bug with printing from that map window.

  • Made changes to the Color Chip layout on Map Window prints so that the first color chip was displayed properly.
